“Please call me Phil.  I think I was named after a gas station…”

Clark Gregg as Agent (Acting Principal) Phil Coulson in ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN (2012-2013):  This character is really the only reason I watch this show to begin with, and they made him adorkable as sin to boot!  He panics over school finances and lunch mystery meats, he gets stripped to his tightie-whites and is hung over a vat of acid, he writes/directs/conducts musical theatre, he fanboys over Captain America while secretly hiding his costume under his suit, he fires super-tech weaponry at baddies while telling them not to run down the halls, he dates Aunt Mae and literally sweeps off her feet, and he sasses off everyone and everything!  How can you not fall head over heels for this man?  Well, in first season…

However, I’m disappointed that, in second season, he was re-designed — his appearance is younger (resembling a Disney Prince, actually), his cameos have become less frequent, his personality, as a result, has ironed down to bland.  I miss the hell out of this acidic, sassy little BAMFILF that I came to adore in this series!  Perhaps this is because Clark Gregg is busy with other projects and couldn’t lend his voice as often; nevertheless, I miss the First-Season Son of Coul like no tomorrow…
